… is closer to leaving than you think.

You know the one. Can fix everything. Runs to help the new hires with difficult breakdowns. Customers ask for them by name because they know the job will get done, whatever the machine.

The one who always says yes when you’re short-staffed, because they genuinely care about the customer.

The more equipment they’re qualified on, the more they get leaned on. And when you’re short-staffed, that load lands on the person reliable enough to carry it..

It’s always them.

What used to feel like a badge of honour now feels like a target on their back.

So they’re having conversations with people like me. “James, let me know if something like X comes in.” And I will.

These engineers aren’t going to storm out. They’re going to calmly hand in their notice on a Friday afternoon and you’ll never really see it coming.

If this sounds familiar and you want to do something about it, get in touch and we can discuss what can be done.
